Finding Peace in the Storm
Good morning, friend in Christ.
Philippians 4:6-7
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Paul wrote these words from a prison cell — not a place of comfort, but a place of uncertainty. Yet his message wasn't "don't worry because everything will be fine." It was "don't worry because God is near." The peace Paul describes isn't the absence of problems; it's the presence of God in the midst of them.
In a world that moves faster every day, anxiety has become our constant companion. But Paul's ancient invitation remains: bring everything to God. Not some things. Everything.
Close your eyes for two minutes. Breathe slowly. With each exhale, silently release one worry to God. With each inhale, receive His peace. Let the rhythm of your breath become a prayer.
Lord, we lay our anxieties at Your feet today. Fill us with Your peace that passes understanding. Guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Amen.
